This page is intended to provide the active members of
PHRF Northwest a central location for timely notification of upcoming
rating appeals.
All PHRF NW rating appeals are open to the public,
or any interested parties. Historically rating appeals have been held at
the Annual Handicappers Council Meetings.
At the January 2005 meeting, the board and handicappers voted
that PHRF NW would incorporate more frequent opportunities for a member to
present a rating appeal , instead of waiting for an annual meeting.
If necessary, an "as sailed
rating" appeal can be heard at a sub-regional level, by a sub-group
of handicappers under the guidance of the Chief Handicapper.
This will allow for more frequent "as sailed
rating" appeals, and less travel for some members.
The rating appeal process has NOT changed. The appeals
still have to be submitted on the proper forms, with attending
documentation, to the handicapper of the boat.
The Handicapper will review the appeal for completeness,
and merit. Once that is done, the handicapper has the option of
coordinating a sub- regional group meeting.
The meeting will be made open to the public, and
notification for such meetings will be made no less than 21 days prior to
the meeting.
Notification for these meetings will now be done
via the PHRF NW website. No longer will individual letters be the only
means of notification.
Please frequent our notice board, for upcoming appeal
notices. If you have any questions, please contact your handicapper.
